How it Works:

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It involves pricking the skin with tiny sterile needles,

causing micro injuries. This trauma prompts the derma, a deeper layer of skin, to rebuild.

Therefore causing your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and and keep it plump and firm helping you look younger.

The goal of the procedure is to start your body’s healing process by sending collagen and

elastin to patch up the tiny injuries. Collagen helps fill in and smooth out wrinkles.

Most people get microneedling on the face, but it can also be done on other parts of the body,

such as neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

Before the procedure a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the skin. The micro-needle tool is

a pen used to move across all areas of the face. Most people don’t feel it at all, or notice just a

vibration sensation.

MicroNeedling appointments are 1.5-2 hours and done every 4-6 weeks. The needling procedure

itself usually takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on how big the area is. In addition,

hyaluronic acid and/or copper peptides are applied to penetrate deeper into the skin. This can

boost the treatment for a variety of issues, including plumping the skin.

There is little to no downtime after treatment.

Common side effects could include:

  •  swelling

  •  redness

  •  bruising

  •  dryness

  • discomfort at the site

  •  flaking of the skin

Bleeding is uncommon, but may be more of a risk for people who have bleeding disorders or

who are taking blood-thinning medications.

Microneedling Healing and Risks

Some things to think about before deciding to try it:

-It’s not a quick fix. It takes time to notice a difference. That’s because your body is healing itself.

Most people need a few treatments before they see any change.

-Healing time. It may take days or weeks to heal, depending on how deep the needles pierce your skin.

-Pain and redness. You may have some minor pain after the procedure, and your skin may be

red for a few days.

-Peeling. Your skin may feel tight and flake a bit while it heals.

-Bruising and bleeding. There’s usually no bleeding during microneedling. But deep microneedling treatments may cause the skin to bleed or bruise.

-Infection. Microneedling creates tiny holes in the skin, which could let germs enter. But the risk

of infection is very low. If you’re healthy, keep the area clean and follow post op directions,

an infection from microneedling is unlikely.

Finally, some people are not candidates for microneedling treatment, including those with:

* an active skin infection

* active acne

* keloid scarring

* an unstable skin type

Microneedling can cause these skin conditions to become worse.

Beware that Accutane may interfere with the treatment. If you regularly use Accutane, please

wait for at least three months before making an appointment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR MICRONEEDLING

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS FROM MICRONEEDLING?

As soon as the deepest layers of your skin are penetrated by the needles, “micro-wounds” are created. This triggers your body’s wound healing processes to heal your micro wounds immediately. However, the most dramatic results will not be visible until four to six weeks after treatment.

WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN I TREAT?

Microneedling can be used on all parts of the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME OF MICRONEEDLING?

Immediately after the treatment, you will notice redness on the skin (like a minor sunburn). On average, clients experience redness for 2-4 days. Some people heal completely in 24 hours.

Utilizing appropriate post treatment products can aid the healing process.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Some clients only require a single treatment once a year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most clients to receive a series of 3-5 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. For clients with more significant skin-care concerns, such as acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.

HOW MUCH DOES MICRONEEDLING COST?

Microneedling Treatments start at $200 per session. Prices do vary depending on treatment area and number of treatments being purchased. Discounts are available on packages of 5 or more sessions.

CAN MICRONEEDLING TREAT ENLARGED PORES?

YES! Microneedling is great for enlarged pores. Microneedling disrupts the fibrotic pores and induces new collagen formation and is able to improve both the skin texture and tightness.
